Tanah Rata which means ‘Flat Land’ of Cameron Highlands is one of the townships you can find in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
As far as township goes it is the biggest you can find in the highlands. Still it’s comparitively small compared to other Malaysian towns.
There’s only 2 rows of shop houses along the main road but due to it’s ideal location as a tourist spot it has seen fast development in terms of housing ahd shops that are springing up.
Attractions
The weather is the main attraction as the temperature is much cooler to the rest of Malaysia which is a hot tropical country. Eateries offering Malaysian, Western and even Japanese cuisine makes this a food heaven. It’s the perfect place to take a break and relax.

For a small town it is not backward at all. There is even free WiFi offered at eateries such as Downtown Cafe and Rosette Cafe. Rosette Cafe is the only shop that offers Japanese menu.

Roselane Cafe is one of the few eateries that offer Western food and also offers free WiFi.
